Vote for Palawan Underground River in the ‘New 7 Wonders of the Nature’


Once again, the Philippines’ mystical subterranean underground river is nominated as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. Many believed and I as one, the Palawan Underground River (also known as the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park) located in the Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines is one of the amazing gift of nature found in the world.
The Palawan Underground River, formerly known as St. Paul Subterranean River, is an unspoiled eight kilometers river runs under a mountain range. The cave is paved with karst limestone cliffs, sprouting with awesome stalactites and stalagmites. Cruising on the emerald waters through the cave, nothing beats the enchanting experience of witnessing the natural wonders of this mystical underground river!
The mystic, unique rock formations of major stalactites and stalagmites are only the few that can be found in the 8.2 km cave. Outside this cave found the rich rainforest system where anyone can do their exploration by hiking and trekking activities. Some wild animals can be found like monkeys, bats, large monitor, and squirrels and so on and so forth.
The emerald water of the lagoon is enticing, alluring to many snorkelers and wannabes. The pristine, powdery white sand can be found there, inviting every travelers to lie down and bask themselves under the sun. At the mouth of the cave, many ancient trees are found growing on the shores. The old trees found are the additional accessories that make the place naturally mystical to many people who have been there.
The underground river is located two-hour drive from the city. You need to take the boat and a few trekking but with all the hassles of getting there will be all worth. It can be outwitted by simply witnessing the astounding underground river. The boatmen are friendly and informative. While going there, that information can tickle your imaginations and bewildered your emotions with many unimaginable wonders that can be found in the place.
The subterranean underground river park is also known as the second largest underground river in the world. It is a pride of local residents of Puerto Princesa and the Philippines.
